u4gm how to kill oscar with brain rot in bo7 zombies guide
Step into Astra Malorum for a few rounds and you quickly realise the map has a new bully, and it is OSCAR stomping around like he owns the place, especially once Season 1 kicks in and the facility opens up a bit more, so having something like a CoD BO7 Bot Lobby to warm up in is not the worst idea before you jump into the real thing.
Why OSCAR Feels So Unfair
Most players’ first real meeting with OSCAR is rough. You hear that metal stomp, turn a corner, and suddenly there is this huge robot soaking up your bullets while zombies pile in from every doorway. A lot of people try to play it safe at first, hugging walls, peeking lanes, hoping he walks past. It rarely works for long. The bigger problem is his tankiness. You dump mags into him and his health bar barely twitches, and it feels like the game is bugged. Then it hits you: all those elemental ammo mods you rely on in Zombies just do nothing to him. No easy freeze, no burn, no shock. Once that realisation lands in a live match, panic sets in fast.
The Drone Shield Trick
What really messes with people is his shield gimmick. OSCAR keeps tossing out these little UFO-style drones that orbit him, and while they are up he is basically untouchable. You can stand there with a Pack-a-Punched wonder weapon and watch the numbers do nothing. Newer players usually keep shooting the boss, thinking more damage will break through, but that is a waste. The weak link is the drones, and that is where the Brain Rot mod comes in. OSCAR ignores elemental damage, but his drones do not. With Brain Rot on your gun, those drones pop way faster, so each wave of them lasts a couple of seconds instead of feeling like a full round of chip damage.
How To Actually Fight Him
The key is accepting that you are not just fighting OSCAR, you are juggling him, his drones, and the constant zombie traffic. Standing still and “DPS racing” him will get you wiped. You want to be running a loose train around the room, keeping the horde bunched behind you, and watching for the moment new drones spawn. The second they appear, snap your aim up, burn them down with your Brain Rot weapon, and then swing straight back to OSCAR’s chest or weak spots. If you do not have Brain Rot for some reason, you can still kill the drones with normal ammo, but it feels much slower, especially on higher rounds where every second you are not moving is a risk.
Small Details That Make The Fight Easier
There are a few habits that help a lot. Do not tunnel vision on his health bar; listen for audio cues when he is about to push or when drones spawn. Do not get greedy and stand still just because his shield is down, since that is usually when a random zombie slaps you from behind. Try to keep at least one strong gun dedicated to Brain Rot and another purely for raw damage on OSCAR once he is open. In co-op, it works well if one player focuses on drone duty while the others burn the boss. After a few runs, the loop of “move, clear horde, delete drones, punish OSCAR, repeat” starts to feel natural, and he goes from unstoppable nightmare to just another mini-boss you farm for drops, especially once you are confident enough to push later rounds or even buy BO7 Bot Lobbies to experiment with different builds.
