Path of Exile Volcanic Fissure of Snaking Skill Guide

Volcanic Fissure of Snaking in Path of Exile feels like one of those melee skills that takes a familiar concept and makes it play in a much flashier and more impactful way. When you slam the ground, a fissure shoots forward in a snaking motion, leaving bursts of damage along its path before erupting at the target location and then continuing to push forward for more eruptions PoE 1 Currency.

It's a style that clears packs quickly and spreads damage across wide areas, but it still gives the feeling of control since you can aim where the fissure travels. Compared to many other slam skills, this one has a smoother flow in maps because you don't have to be standing directly on top of every enemy to hit them.

The weapon requirement is pretty broad since it works with axes, maces, staves, sceptres, and even unarmed, so it leaves room for different kinds of builds. By converting most of the physical damage into fire, it fits perfectly into fire-scaling setups and makes it easy to stack bonuses from passives, support gems, and gear. The skill also gets a natural boost with its larger area of effect and multiple eruptions, which makes each slam feel impactful even at lower levels. Quality on the gem adds even more eruptions, which just reinforces its scaling as you invest into it.

It isn't the fastest attack in the game since it only runs at about seventy percent of base attack speed, but that drawback is covered up by the sheer coverage and damage potential. The fissure itself moves quickly enough across the ground that you don't feel slowed down while clearing, and the eruptions give it a satisfying weight when they land. Strength requirements scale pretty high, which pushes the skill naturally toward classes like Marauder or Duelist, and the damage scaling from early levels to endgame keeps it relevant for a long time. Mana costs do rise as the gem levels up, but with the right management or support, it doesn't become a big issue.

The damage scaling is strong enough that many players lean into it as a core skill for Berserker builds, taking advantage of attack speed and leech to stay aggressive while keeping up survivability. The fire conversion gives it a natural synergy with a lot of common support setups, and gear that boosts area or fire damage makes a big difference in how deadly it feels. It's one of those skills that encourages you to push forward aggressively rather than play too safe, and the coverage it offers rewards that style of play.

Getting the gem is a little different from most, since it doesn't drop in the usual way. Instead, you have to use the Divine Font system to transfigure a Volcanic Fissure gem into this version. That randomness can make it feel a bit grindy if you're chasing it specifically, but for players who enjoy experimenting with transfigured gems, it's part of the fun.

Volcanic Fissure of Snaking is one of the more entertaining melee fire skills to use in Path of Exile. It clears well, scales nicely with investment, and has a unique rhythm that separates it from the standard slam archetypes PoE Currency. For players who like fire-themed melee builds and enjoy seeing their attacks ripple across the screen with multiple eruptions, it's a rewarding option to build around.
