It's also true today that many business professionals turn to writing for broader personal exposure and to promote their businesses. 

Some authors, particularly those who are extroverted, find self-promotion comes easily. However, many prefer to work with publicists who can help facilitate personal branding and publicity. When you appear in media outlets, often through opportunities arranged by your publicist, it's important to concentrate on building relationships. The objective is to be invited back and establish yourself as a recognized speaker in your field of expertise. The landscape is saturated with experts in various domains, and becoming one yourself enhances your visibility, thereby promoting you, your book, and your business.
