Arc Raiders Fried Motherboards Guide
Fried Motherboards are among the rarest components in Arc Raiders, and anyone pushing toward Utility Station level 3 will eventually run into the wall that requires three of them, plus Leaper Pulse Units and Advanced Electrical Components. They're also needed for several late-game blueprints, including upgraded fabricators and gadget mods ARC Raiders Boosting.
These burnt-out boards only appear in Technological zones on every map, hidden inside servers, computers, lockers, and drawers while ARC patrols and scavenger crews roam the halls. They're much harder to find than ordinary scrap, so casual looting usually won't cut it. Focused farming, however, can reliably get you anywhere from two to nine per run, which speeds up the climb from a basic outpost to something far more formidable. Whether you're solo or running with a squad, you can stack dozens in a short session by repeatedly clearing high-yield buildings.
The Dam Battlegrounds are generally considered the best place to farm them. The big Research and Administration building in the center is extremely consistent, with five lockers and clusters of computers on each floor that regularly produce two to five motherboards per clear. It sits just east of the Water Treatment Control area and is packed with desks, servers, and wall panels that also drop keys for nearby vaults. Players aiming for pure efficiency usually hit the top floors first using zip lines, slip past or outmaneuver ARC heavies, and walk out with nine or more boards in under five minutes.
Buried City comes in close behind. The northern Space Travel building, especially its fourth through sixth floors, is full of server racks and electronics that drop three to six boards on a full sweep, often alongside Sensors and Damaged Heat Sinks. Upper floors can be reached quickly with zip lines, and the lower levels add processors for players who want to diversify their farming instead of chasing a single material. Patrols are tighter here, but the northern extract is nearby, so resets are fast. Many players split floors when running in a squad, which keeps the loot flowing, and community runs show this building has very reliable spawns and often rivals the Dam in efficiency without the crowding.
Pilgrim's Peak has some solid blue-gate Technological spots near the top of the map that are great for quick hits. They're good for early-game players who need one or two boards before bigger upgrades kick in. Spaceport's Departure Building is another strong option. Its basement is lined with server clusters—twenty or more per run—so you can scoop up Fried Motherboards, Processors, and Cooling Fans in large batches. It's a favorite for players with a level 2 refiner who want to recycle the overflow into whatever they're missing.
The most effective way to farm these is to focus almost entirely on Technological zones, bring breaching tools, and run light—around 8 to 11 kilograms—so you can carry everything without slowing down. Quick extracts after clearing your target building let you reset immediately. Solo players tend to rely on stealth gear, cloaks, and suppressed pistols, while teams can split floors or breach multiple rooms at once to double the output. If the drop luck isn't on your side, Refiner level 2 can craft them from scraps, though the conversion rate isn't great compared to direct farming. Spending most of your time on servers instead of miscellaneous containers usually leads to twenty or more boards an hour with a good rhythm.
Once you learn the good Technological routes, the mid-game in Arc Raiders opens up quickly. Stockpiling Fried Motherboards powers your Utility Station to level 3 and unlocks stronger gadgets that make raids noticeably easier ARC Raiders Coins cheap. Whether you're hitting the Dam's Research building, sweeping Buried City's server floors, or mixing in smaller Technological loops, you can grow a small outpost into a fortified late-game base far faster than by hoping for random drops.
